Projects
Our projects tackle real challenges and create visible change. From local community initiatives to national and international collaborations, members lead projects that turn responsibility into results and ideas into impact.
100 for 100
In 2015, on the occasion of JCI’s 100th anniversary, the JCI Bulgaria, together with the company C3i, donated a total of 150 recycled laptops to various civic organizations and causes.
The main goal was to provide an opportunity for diverse organisations providing social services for children, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities and disadvantaged people and others to receive a donation of computers in order to provide training opportunities, but also to support the work of the institutions and organizations.
The project was recognised as “The Most Outstanding Flagship Project” for JCI Europe.
Plums for Trash
The aim of the project is to collect separately and recycle waste (mainly paper, cardboard and plastic), with the funds raised being used for the renovation and construction of children’s sports facilities and playgrounds.
The “Plums for Garbage” initiative began in 2012 in the cities of Sofia, Varna and Plovdiv, managing to collect over 2000 kg of paper, over 300 kg. of plastic and over 300 kg of glass. Companies that provide their waste for recycling participate in the project. However, in the current campaign, a children’s educational institution is a participant.
Books Box
A charity donation campaign that gives everyone the opportunity to donate their read books to people in disadvantaged situations.
Within this project, 10 boxes were placed in key locations in Plovdiv, where everyone can leave their read books, which will later be sorted and distributed for charity sales and institutions in need.
Within the framework of this project, thousands of books were collected and distributed.
Sport! Live Actively!
Community-focused project aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among young people through sport, movement, and education.
Implemented over the course of one week in Varna, the project combined a wide range of free sports activities – including fitness, yoga, running, dance, self-defense, team sports, and climbing – with educational sessions on healthy living, nutrition, and the role of physical activity in everyday life. This holistic approach encouraged participants to explore different ways of staying active while learning how to use their time more consciously and sustainably.
The project was implemented by JCI Varna with the financial support of the Municipality of Varna under the Youth Projects 2016 program.
Books for School
Charity project aimed at improving access to quality reading materials for students in underserved schools across Bulgaria.
The initiative brought together partners, volunteers, and the wider community to collect books for school libraries that lack sufficient or up-to-date resources. By providing engaging and age-appropriate literature, the campaign supported children and young people in discovering the joy of reading and expanding their knowledge beyond the classroom.
Through Books for School, JCI worked to promote education, equal opportunities, and a culture of reading, while creating meaningful connections between donors, schools, and local communities.
